There’s no denying it’s more comfortable, but what will your fellow passengers think of it?

Even if your feet don’t smell, sometimes the mere sight of someone with their shoes off looks vaguely indulgent — there are unspoken rules to social situations, and for some of you this is surely one of them. Even so, most of us don’t enjoy flying and will do whatever we can to make it more comfortable. If that includes taking our shoes off in what’s hopefully an unobtrusive way, well, sometimes you do what you have to. Of course, you’ll be wearing socks anyway, right? Right?
