Everyone knows that straws have two ends, but does each end count as a separate hole, or is the entire tube just one long hole?

The world demands answers. If you put your finger over one end, for instance, would you effectively “seal” one of the holes or merely make the one hole less accessible? And if there are two holes, where does one end and the other begin? A big question to sip on.
