Are you a nervous traveler or a devil-may-care jet-setter? Your airport arrival time might say more about you than you realize.
The official recommendation from most airlines is two hours, which tends to be enough time to allow for a less-than-speedy security line, gate changes, and other inconveniences. But what if it isn’t enough, the voice in your head can’t help asking, and you need an extra half-hour cushion? Better make it an hour to be safe, in fact. Conversely, some frequent flyers are perfectly comfortable waltzing into the airport at the last possible moment, breezing through security, and hopping on the plane just before the doors close. There’s no right answer — unless the lackadaisical approach results in a missed flight, that is.
