It’s the worst seat on the plane, so maybe whoever’s stuck in it should get a little something for their trouble. The aisle seat allows restless travelers to get up without disturbing anyone, the window seat has the best view *and* a spot to lean your head against while trying to sleep, but the middle seat has…well, nothing good, really. The case for giving them both armrests is thus fairly self-evident, though some will argue that it’s their fault for waiting to book their trip until all the good seats were gone and it’s a dog-eat-dog world when you’re at a cruising altitude of 35,000 feet.

Should the person in the middle seat get both armrests?
