E-readers have become increasingly popular in recent years, but some traditionalists will always prefer the real thing.

Both kinds of actual books have their advantages. Hardcovers are sturdier and don’t bend, whereas paperbacks have a softness to them that can be more pleasing in a tactile way. Kindle, Nook, and other e-reader enthusiasts point to their portability, light weight, and the fact that one device can store thousands of books, but there’s something about actually turning a page that no technology — convenient though it may be — can ever replicate.
